what exactly is "social justice"?

"Social justice is the complete economic equality of all members of society. While this may sound like a lofty objective, what it really means is that wealth should be collected by the government and evenly distributed to everyone. In short, social justice is communism. It is rooted in the Marxist idea that the money people make and the property they own do not rightfully belong to the people who make the money and own the property.
Karl Marx's ultimate criticism of capitalism is its recognition of private property. The reason private property is so evil, Marx contended, is that it is a function of economic class warfare. In other words, "the rich" use the concept of private property to oppress "the poor." In order to understand this convoluted thought process, Marx's view of money must be examined, since money is the means by which private property is acquired."

  2. People need something in their lives to apply themselves to. Whether it be through a group, a religion, a cause, or any other human construct, people are in search of "meaning" and "purpose" for their lives.

Though many would not admit it, or may not even realize it, the vast majority of people's lives revolve around material possession.

Such is the basis of a capitalistic society.

True, no force, religious, idealistic, or other, has proven to be more capable in increasing the material production of men than their own greed (i.e. capitalism).

But should material possession really be our ultimate goal?

What about goods of the intangible sort, like happiness, mutual respect, love, and camaraderie. I would much rather make "meaning" and "purpose" in my life by applying myself to these things. I would much rather live in a society with policies focused on promoting such things.

I am in no way advocating communism as a superior alternative to capitalism

I am merely proposing that not all social welfare policies are as ill-conceived as many staunch conservatives would like you to think. Laissez faire is not always the best answer.

***These are just my random thoughts hastily typed out, tell me what you think.
